Biography

Mr. David Edwards obtained his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Aston University (1969). Edwards is an experienced toxicologist with experience in multiple areas of pharmaceutical development. Currently, he serves as President of DBETox Consulting LLC, providing drug development consulting services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Mr. Edwards is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board, bringing more than fifty years of pharmaceutical drug development and consulting experience to Radyus. Mr. Edwards’s experience consulting on drug development in various therapeutic areas is crucial to our work at Radyus.

Mr. Edwards has extensive experience providing the pharmaceutical industry with a myriad of services, including preclinical/non-clinical development plans, assessment of preclinical data for due diligence purposes (in-licensing, investment companies, etc.), protocol design of safety pharmacology and toxicology studies, selection of appropriate CROs to conduct such studies and subsequent monitoring of these studies, review of study reports, preparation of non-clinical sections of pre-IND briefing books, investigator brochures, INDs, NDAs and regulatory white papers, and preparation and attendance at client/FDA meetings. He served as Head of Toxicology for Syntex Research Scotland (1997-1995) and Director of Toxicology/Pathology at Quintiles Scotland Limited (1995-1999). He then held several positions at AtheroGenics Inc./Salutria Pharmaceuticals between 1999 and 2011, including Senior Director of Toxicology and Early Development, Vice President of Early Development, and Vice President of Early Development and Regulatory Affairs. Edwards is currently the President of DBETox Consulting LLC.

Mr. Edwards received his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Aston University.As a Member of the Royal Society of Biology (MSRB), Edwards also holds the professional registration title of Chartered Biologist (CBiol). He is an experienced toxicologist with experience across a broad spectrum of pharmaceutical development, including: DMPK, CMC, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Supplies, and Phase I and II clinical studies. Edwards has produced over 1000 regulatory toxicology reports and has worked on many regulatory submissions as both a toxicologist and project team leader.
